Yesterday, I alluded to the fact that I was lacking gumption, energy, motivation, etc. Although I may be wrongly blaming it on the baby, I am pretty sure this thing grew overnight again. I looked at myself in the mirror this morning and had to look twice. Regardless, I’m feeling much better today and am trying to make the most of it and get some things accomplished. Funny story about my nap yesterday: while I was in my coma, a tire from the camper popped for no reason and made a really loud noise. Leigh ran out of her camper because she thought a water pipe had burst. I, on the other hand, slept right through it. I must have been tired.
After I posted yesterday evening, I did some laundry, the dishes, and wiped out the pickup. I also had seen a concoction on pinterest for cleaning showers and I swear camper showers get way more nasty than regular showers. I asked my mother-in-law who is very cleanly and she agreed with me. I’m not sure if it is the different kinds of water we use throughout the summer, the fact that some of the pipes we use only are ran when we use them, that there is more dust in campers, but regardless of the reason, they get gross. This pink film accrues in the corners and it’s grimy.
This concoction was easy enough so I decided to try it. It is one part blue dawn dish soap and one part vinegar. You warm the vinegar up and are supposed to put the two in a spray bottle. I didn’t have a spray bottle so I just put it in my near empty dish soap container. Then you spray (I squirted and then used my hands to spread), leave for at least 30 minutes, and wipe out. It worked great. I think I may have had a little more soap than vinegar so it didn’t take care of the water spots as well as they claimed it would, but the grime is gone!
Blake hates vinegar because of the smell. I love it – it’s cheap, multipurpose, safe for most materials, and works great. He walked in and asked me why stunk in the camper. I just smiled and he asked, did you use vinegar? Guilty! He was, however, impressed with how much better the shower looked. Leigh stopped over today and she was surprised how clean it was (she hadn’t seen the before but this used to be their camper so she knows how it gets). I think we are going to try it on the bunkhouse shower – and if it works there, I’ll be a true believer.
This morning, I got groceries, made the casserole for lunch, and packed their suppers. Blake wasn’t very happy that he didn’t have any goodies when he got in last night – poor thing – so I made chocolate chip cookie bars for him when I got back from lunch. With my increase in cooking/baking this summer, I have gotten down a new skill. I now break eggs with one hand. I know, real impressive. (Said with sarcasm.)
Welp, I should try to keep busy for a couple more hours. We are leaving for Bismarck pretty early so I should get all ready for that too.
